It started off as a birthday present from Beki to Tom. A little BBQ smoker...(something to keep him occupied and out of the way!)
We'd spend our days off from work, experimenting; testing different foods and wood smokes purely for our enjoyment and feasting pleasure.
Beki bought Tom another little smoker and we moved on to another more substantial smoker & tried almost everything we could, from eggs to brownies, oysters to oil.
Soon we were taking requests for our smoked butter from friends and family and as a champion sausage maker; Tom's smoked beer sausages were a hit at beer festivals and BBQ's!
Thus the Dog House Menu was born!
It's is our nod to 'Continental Beer Culture', serving delicious 'beer-inspired food, in a variety of sized plates, designed to be snacked upon as you enjoy your perfect tipple, no matter what your appetite!
Our beer snacks are the smallest dishes on the Dog House menu, our twist on traditional pub snacks, homemade and prepared by the bar staff.
The Beer plates are perfect to order like tapas; choose a few plates and ask the staff to bring you a flight of beers to pair with your dishes. Check out our suggestions for what beer we think works and pick your favourite, or why not leave it up to the staff and try something new!
Finally, our hot dogs are our speciality and the ultimate beer food!
Don't think rubbery American hot dogs, think homemade and hot-smoked giant Cumberlands, served in a homemade bun and loaded a selection of delicious toppings. Not for the faint hearted, as these beauties are pretty substantial, but worth it when they're this tasty!
